I don't see this as a bug in any way, but I'm just currious.
Is it in some way possible, to use ImageGen on an image wich is placed on another domain? Or even on my own domain, but with the http://www.domain.com in the src.
I ask because I have a site with an RSS-reader on it. And on each of the RSS-feeds I'm using, there is an image attached to every article, as a <media:thumbnail>-tag.
But the thumbnails are to large to fit into the design, and I would like to use ImageGen to scale them to the correct size - If that is possible in any way.
I have tried the normal way off course. Like this:
ImageGen Professional 3 will document the new 'white
list remote domains' feature, which allows exactly the situation you
describe. You will need to pre-define any remote domains with images
you want ImageGen to process... wouldn't want to let anyone use your
site as a free image resizer tool by allowing all remote images.
This is a professional feature so you'll need to purchase a registration key for your site's domain (but not the remote sites).
Though
this is an ImageGen 3 feature, it is included (undocumented) in the 2.2
patch on the project page. If you need this ability before ImageGen 3
is released please contact me through my website and I'll explain how
to set it up.

But this doesn't show the image. So I am interested in knowing if it is possible in any way, to show the image with the right proportions?
Thanks :)

Hi Douglas
Sounds cool, if it's a part of the professional package. I'll consider that option a lot actually :)
But when do you plan to release v. 3.0 professional?
An old post but worth mentioning that ImageGen Professional 2.5 (now released) supports resizing images that are hosted on remote servers.
cheers,
doug.
is working on a reply...
