    Licensing and multiple umbraco installation

I will just make this an open question on the forum as i guess that i might not be the only one who has done this.

According to the license for imagegen, i am allowed to use it on a main site and all sub domains, in my case its:

    www.mydomain.com
    subdomain1.mydomain.com
    subdomain2.mydomain.com

so one main and two sub, with likely more to come. But the thing is that the second sub domain is a seperate umbraco installation. Will this have any implications with the license, and is there anything different i have to do about the installation?

    Hi, Frederik,

You purchase a key for a domain (mydomain.com) and you can use ImageGen Professional on every site in that domain (mydomain.com, www.mydomain.com, blog.mydomain.com, intranet.mydomain.com, abcCorp.clients.mydomain.com, .... you get the idea... every site in the domain).

Further, you can use the domain key on every server and machine in the domain. Got a load-balanced site with 4 servers? No problem. Want to have every dev use ImageGen Professional? No problem. Have staging and qa and client approval and live sites? No problem.

In short... it is by domain. Use it on as many sites and machines in that domain as you want.

    Pretty good deal, eh? :)

    cheers,
    doug.
