You are the first person requesting this but it makes sense to export this info as well in some cases. Should be simple to add these and to exclude it by default. I'll be working on a new small release tomorrow and will make sure this gets included.

Will CmsImport import them into the matching named group in the target CMS?
A bit later than planned, but the latest 2.6 version adds support to export member types and groups also. You can download it from the download page and install it over your current environment. On new environments you need to remove _memberType and _memberGroups from the excluded properties in the /umbraco/plugins/memberexport/config/memberexport.config file.

Will be native support in CMSImport V3 but for now this will work.
