    nForum_MVC?

Probably missed a post on this but I remember last year you said you were working on nForum_MVC.

Has any progress been made with this at all?

It will only be for v7. Also we were waiting for the new member functionality in v7 but not sure when that is coming now.

Yes, it was started but I have a load of other ideas now I have finished MVCForum (http://www.mvcforum.com) and realised what features are useful.

The nForumMVC POC we had running also allowed multiple forums, which was requested a few times.

Thanks Jeroen - If it's that far away then I think we'll just run with the normal membership api for now, the repo will be Interfaced anyway so it should be fairly easy to swap out.

    Hi Lee,

We're about to add a forum to a Umbraco 7 site (launch in a few months), and our current idea is to use the MVC Forum - for the modern architecture and the use of bootstrap. We plan to do some work to get a basic backend integration with Umbraco 7 + the membership and login integration.

However if the nForum vNext is coming up soon enough, we might better invest our time in that one. Whichever path we go for, we're interested in helping out with testing / information and / or code. So - which alternative would you recommend? nForum MVC or MVC Forum ?

    Lee,

Re. Jonas post, could you simply let us know where you are now with bringing nForum upto Version 7 of Umbraco.  I too could, I suppose, run MVC Forum in parallel but I would much prefer an integrated admin.

nForumMVC is still some way off I'm afraid. I have to get v1.5 of MVCForum out the door (About 3 weeks away at the moment) then I can start on nForumMVC again (Which I'll be starting from scratch now).

Ok, thanks for the info, and a big #h5yr for developing the forums, I hope to be able to contribute in some way when we start our implementation for real.

Any news on nForumMVC? I'm about to start work on a new site that requires a forum - wondering whether to do this in Umbraco 6 or 7.

nForum 1.7 is pretty stable for 6.1.6. There's just a handful of bugs that need fixing, but I'm using it and it's working really well.

So it works with 6.1.6 with render engine set to MVC ???

Haven't tested it using MVC. If Lee is developing a forum specifically built for MVC though, I'd probably say no to nForum supporting it.

Are you set on using MVC?

Yes the forum topic I started here is "nForum_MVC" so that is really what this thread is about.

Yes I am really committed to MVC as it is a new site that I developed late last year. No Worries - maybe a V7 version of nForum will be released.

Just to let you know I have started the MVC version. It's not called nForum anymore, and hope to have something to show in a couple of months or by the Umbraco UK Festival at latest.

I'll pop up a link to a test forum here too soon, which if everyone could test would be a massive help.

Do you have an approximate ETA? We have some projects starting soon and I wasn't sure if we should hold out (if it is not too far away).

    Thanks

    Hi Lee

    Any Update on this?

Is the MVC version of nForum out or expected to be out anytime soon?

    Thanks

    Hi Lee,

Followed this thread with interest. Have a couple of projects where I'd be happy to test the new V7 version.

Does it have a name and release date yet?
