The RichText data type in uCommerce is a little limited.
Is there anything that can be done to expand its functionality? To be able to insert an image for example or apply styles like the standard TinyMCE RichText editor that comes with Umbraco?
We purposefully limited the formatting options available in the RTE. If you need additional images I would suggest adding them as separate fields to ensure data quality on your products.
It would probably make sense to open up the configuration options for it in a future version.
I have umbraco v 4.7.2 (Assembly version: 1.0.4500.21031) and I was wondering how to insert images into the uCommerce RichTextEditor? I have most of the options, just not the image option...
I don't really want my client to have to use HTML...
We're not huge fans of unstructured data like that so uCommerce does include an option to do that. We much rather have you add a new media field to your product definition to ensure that each product is configured in the sam manner.
We are using uCommerce 3.6.3.13183 and I am wondering if there have been added more of the buttons that are default in Umbraco's RichText editor.
E.g. I would like the button "paste from Word" because that let the editors copy text directly from Word and insert text safely without including inline styling and markup. Furthemore the button "remove formating" is useful if the editor already have text in the RichText editor with cluttered markup and inliune styling.
And in Data Types > RichText why not let there be configuration options to specify which buttons you want to use, like in Umbraco's datatype settings?

If you feel this should be part of an upcoming version please submit it on our uservoice forum for others to vote on.
Thanks Soren.
Hi Søren,

Is this possible?
Thanks as ever!

Thanks Søren, I get where you're coming from. Loving the product and thanks for the great support.
