    uCommerce Icon?

    Good afternoon all,

This looks like it wil be very good but i've just downloaded and installed uCommerce and the store but i do not appear to have the uCommerce icon like in the video. (the icon located in the bottom left with the other icons, Content, Media, Users, Settings, Developer, Members).

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Dom

    Hi Dom

Are you sure that the user your app-pool runs under, has the correct permissions (read/write/modyfy) on the filesystem and in the database (owner, public, reader, writer)? If you got a clean Umbraco and the correct permissions, then uCommerce should install just fine. Run through the installation of the uCommerce-package and hit F5 to refresh when the installer completes.

    Regards
    Anders

    Thanks for the quick response.

I have a uCommerce section in my Content section.

I've installed it on something i've been doing, so its a fresh install of umbraco 4.7 with the business package and i've changed the layout of the homepage and thats it really.

i've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and then hitting F5 but nothing changes.

I've just installed the basic free version, is that why its not in the sections?

    thanks

In some cases you need to give yourself access to the sections.

If you go to the Users section, and select your user, then you can pick which sections you should have access to.

ehh..  okay. But uCommerce out of the box is 100% separated from the content-section.

Installing the uCommerce package should create a new section called "Commerce". You should hit F5 after installation, as your browser needs to reload things to get the icon. In this new section, you have the userinterface to support the uCommerce model and logic. And uCommerce have its own datamodel as a set of uCommerce-tables in the database. Try and check your database after installation. It should contain a lot of tables prefixed with "ucommerce".

The uCommerce demo store package however, is a different story. It will provide you with some documenttypes, macros and documents in the content section. Therefore this will alter your Umbraco installation. Of course it will only add things, and not "fiddle" with your existing things.

For me it sounds like you have the uCommerce-demo-package installed correct. But i don't know about the uCommerce-package...

    Thanks guys, its now there.

As you both suggested i needed to give the admin access to see it via the Users section.

Also, the bit in the content section is the store that i installed lol sorry for the confusion on that one

    thanks again guys

    Dom
