    A few suggestions

    Hello there,

I am trying out uCommerce for the first time today and I just have some feedback.

    • When editing product definitions the error message is not clear. I was wondering why it wouldn't save for too long. Then I realised I had a space in the name so it wouldnt save. It came up with a different error message though
    • It would be nice if it came with Australian dummy entries in the install. (Umbraco is getting more popular here...I guess everywhere)
    • I went to your website where I signed up for a free version key. I waited half of the day until I realised it wasn't comming so I just installed it through the back end. I mean that's kinda my fault, but it's not 100% clear whats going on.
    • I just went to your website again and tried that uservoice thing for suggestions. I don't like it. I couldn't seem to submit, wanted me to vote...anyway, that was a waste of time. IMO, you are better off refereing people here.

Anyway, just some feedback and I hope it helps. So far it all looks pretty solid and I think I like it a lot. More time needed to really know though. Keep up the good work.

    Hi John,

Thanks for taking the time to come up with the suggestions. They are much appreciated!

Quick question what type of Australian dummy data are you looking for? Currency? GST? Something else?

We had high hoped for user voice, but the service is gradually become worse and worse. They're introduing a new version of it within two weeks. I want to see if this does something to change the situation. Otherwise we'll have to start looking at other options. The goal is to keep support and feature requests separate as the forum is very hard to get a complete overview of feature requests. Still want them to be public :)

I have made some changed to the message being sent when you order new keys to make sure that they are more clear.

    Heya Soren,

As for Australian dummy data, yeah, just currency and gst (I don't think I think think of others). It's not a huge thing, I mean it's not hard to add those in. I guess it just makes us feel more welcome lol :)

I hope they fix it for you with uservoice...it really was bad :| From my own perspective, I know I will never go back. They have lost me forever...fickle customers! Hmm well, I guess I will have I have to :)

Thanks for thinking about the feedback! I can appreciate you are probably a very busy man.

I think more and more you're right about just using this forum for feedback (it's what's happening anyway). I am concerned to that gems might get lost in here. It's pretty difficult to keep track of what people really want :)

I'm inclined to take a look at GetSatisfaction instead. Do you have any experience with those guys?

Heya Søren, no I haven't heard of getstaisfaction. I checked out their website....they have some glaring usability/copywriting issues! I have been to several pages and am still highly confused as to what they do for me...

I know from an end users persepective I find it more convenient to use this forum...like I know it's not feature full or anything, but it's just good to have all Umbraco in one spot......while that may help me or possibly other users, that may not help you though :)

I guess you could look at it like this: using off site feedback mechanisms may cost you feedback gems as well....ultimately though I guess the only way to know is try things and fail and try again...Sometimes one can think too much...

    Hope those thoughts help :)
