I am just curious as to the situation with umbraco 5 and uCommerce. I see on your website tweet v3 your first partner install might be happening before end of year.
Anyway, I was mostly curious as to weather there is any possibility at all of migration from v4 to v5...well mostly... just the data....I can handle setting everything up again but would love to know if there is a possibility of data migration.
uCommerce 3 will work with both Umbraco 4 and 5. Same API, same data model. Umbraco HQ is saying that there will be a free version of Courier, which will be able to move over Umbraco data. Templates and macros will have to be created again, but you'll be able to carry over code built against the uCommerce API.
Thanks Soren, I had read somewhere about the Courier moving over the data...that'll save my buttox on another site for which I've been hanging out to go 5 with...for now this site I was looking into got canned :|, but I am at least now a bit more knowledable about uCommerce so that I can trust it for future projects.
v5 and uCommerce V3
Hello there,
I am just curious as to the situation with umbraco 5 and uCommerce. I see on your website tweet v3 your first partner install might be happening before end of year.
Anyway, I was mostly curious as to weather there is any possibility at all of migration from v4 to v5...well mostly... just the data....I can handle setting everything up again but would love to know if there is a possibility of data migration.
I wouldn't expect so, but one can hope :)
Thank you
John
Hi John,

Thanks Soren.
Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Here's hoping for a future project for you :)
