uploading product images instead of linking to media library
Hi,
i'm creating an online store that comprises of individual unique items with unique item specific images, i've done up the product defs to accomodate the extra images but was wondering if i could do it more efficiently.
currently, i would have to upload the images to the media folder, then proceed to link them when creating the products ... problem is in this scenario, the uploading and product creation are in 2 different places, and it becomes tedious when every single product is unique and has about 3-5 images each.
is there a plug-in that allows me to upload directly when creating the product and it automatically manages the images for me in a specific media folder?
There's no such plugin at this time. Currently uCommerce assumes the images exist in the Media section.
You could create a scheme where you don't actually have the product images in Umbraco, just in the file system. Products and images are linked via a naming convention so you just have to put the images in a know folder and name them the same as your SKU or whatever naming scheme works for you.
It is something we'd like to do better in the future.
