Depending on the context, which is a little unclear to me, would be to just add a product definition field to your products and specify the value there. When you talk about a currency, it sounds as if you want to use them as some sort of value they can use to get a discount or something like that?
Custom Currency?
Hi Folks,
I'm looking to put together an incentive/rewards system and looking at using uCommerce for the rewards.
The system will have registered users that accumulate points based on the things they sell. The reward of points will be handled separately.
Basically, what I need to do is to apply a "points" value to a product instead of a monitory value. So I guess I need a custom currency.
Is this the best way of approaching this project?
Regards
Mark

How do you wish to use those "points" ?

Hi Morten,
Thanks for the reply. I think that your solution, adding a custom field to the product is going to be the way forward.
The points admin is quite simple, the admin logs into the umbraco members area and simply updates the number of points.
When someone checks out their basket, we simply deduct the points in there basket from the total in the members field.
I'll just set the monitory value of each reward to 0 and use the custom field.
Thanks for the inspiration.
