What is the best practice for using Vendr with a multi language / multi country set-up?
Using TeaCommerce we always used a seperate Master Product Catalog with product information, and language specific trees (and nodes) for product specific content.
With Umbraco 8 I think can we use the varying by culture features of Umbraco 8 to set all basic Product info + language specific info using one node in Umbraco?
Is that a correct assumption? Maybe it's a good idea to include some basic multi-language setup in the demo shop.
It should be possible to do both, so kind of depends on the setup you need. The new content variants in v8 would be classed as a 1 to 1 translation setup which means all sites share the same content, however if you are wanting to sell different products in different regions or just have different site content in other areas, you may still want to use a multi site setup with a shared product catalog.
Either way should work fine.
As a matter of openness, I can't say we have fully tested the multilingual v8 setup with Vendr and hence why we don't yet have anything in the demo store for this, but it should definitely be the case that Vendr should work with the new multilingual v8 features so if you do find any issues, we will of course support you to get them resolved.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your quick response. Our current project set-up suits the new Umbraco 8 variants best, so we will start implement it like that.
If we encounter any problems, I will be sure to let you know.
Perfect.
Look forward to hearing how you get on 👍
Thanks for giving Vendr a try
