Vendr Licensing for Multiple sites in one Umbraco Instance
I believe we are going to move forward with Vendr for a client of mine. They have two websites right now that are going to be replaced by (hopefully) a single Umbraco instance that handles multiple hostnames.
In this case, would we need a Vendr license for each hostname, or would one for the whole Umbraco instance be enough? If one is enough, which URL should we put in the application form for a license?
That's a good question, I would need to ask my client; though my understanding is they're mostly the same products (if not entirely the same products). The only significant differences are branding and the value conversion of loyalty/rewards points translate to real currency.
we are planning a shop platform, where multiple vendors can have their own shop. Each shop has to have their individual settings and products. There is going to be one main domain. Each single shop should have its subdomain like so
If they all sit under the same primary domain, then only a single license would be required. Vendr licenses cover the primary domain and all sub-domains. It's only if the stores wanted their own distinct URL would you be required to purchase additional licenses.
Matt
PS Please do try to ask questions on their own forum post rather than appending it onto the end of an existing question. It just makes it easier for people to find answers if they have your exact question.

Hi Sam,
Vendr is licensed per domain so you would need a license for each unique domain you need to run a store on.
Are the stores selling the same products or are they distinct stores?

Thank you for your quick answer!

We are expecting 20 vendors to start of with.
Thanks, Edi
