We're implementing a site for our uk client that will be based in the USA and provide for USA customers only. US tax is a minefield so we're going with a 3rd party api to handle the complexities of origin and destination based sales tax.
The 'from' address is the billing address of the store. There is a default country for the store under settings, but the tax calculation needs street, city, country and zip.
We can add those properties on a document type but I thought it would be more obvious if a store had a full billing address, certainly in a multi-store scenario.
That's a great suggestion. I think we may have something already related to that in the issue tracker, allowing defining potentially multiple warehouses or locations as to where the products are located.
