It seems like the total price of an order/cart does not take gift cards into account. See the image below (And sorry for the danish stuff. "Gavekort" is the gift card). I would, as a customer, expect the total price to show whatever price I need to pay in the end. Otherwise I would get suspicious if the webshop have registered my gift card correctly.
Should I instead show the transaction amount in place of the total price? Or am I missing something here?
Yes. We treat Gift Cards as a kind of pseudo payment, so it doesn't need to be concerned with tax etc, it's purely a "knock a certain amount of the final total".
This is why we moved it to the TransactionAmount in Vendr (it was on Total Price in TC). So yea, as your final figure to display, you should use the TransactionAmount.
