XFS Term Selector

About XFS Term Selector:

This package contains the term selector and the corresponding (example) thesaurus doctypes. Selected terms/tags are stored in xml with or without the chosen weights (you can turn this off in the datatype). The datatype retrieves the terms from the configured thesaurus.

Current functionality:

• Select tags/terms using datatype
• Ability to add your own terms to the thesaurus (auto add functionality in the future!)
• Provide extra weight to terms using the + - buttons for each term
• Selected terms are saved in XML
• The tag webservice automatically hooks in during typing
• Selected tags/terms can be rearranged using drag and drop

Along with this package we are busy finishing a search engine based on facets. This package will be licensed and will integrate with this package.

Background information:

XFS stands for Xuntos Faceted Search and this is one of its free packages.

We started developing this package series search engine since we developed a complete new search engine for each site we would develop. The goals is to have a great tagging datatype which supports weights per tag + a search engine based on facets to filter results. Facets like datatypes for specific search results per datatype, but also based on search terms and other great filters.
