few pre-sale question - fixed version

hi, i'm writing the updated question because from some reason i cant edit it..

    so the updated questions are:

    • as i understand,  i can create unlimited categories and sub-categories.
but is a product can be belonged to multipile categories? if true, do i need to duplicate the product manually under each category?
    • is ucommerce supports brands (manufacturers)? if not, how can i achive that?
    •  is it possible to easily create layered navigation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA8DjUgE_GY).
    • when ucommerce version 2.0 will be abailable? if i will buy it now (basic version),  i will get the update for free?
    Thanks!

You can create unlimited categories with all editions of uCommerce. Products exist in as many categories as you want them to without duplication.

uCommerce supports multiple brands. You can achieve this by adding a new property to your product definitions called brand which contains the allowed brands. You can do this with categories. Which option is better depends on your particular needs. Read Product Definitions explained for more information.

Regarding layered navigation it's not as seamless as what is outlined in the YouTube video. You basically have full control over layout so you can definitely create filtering like what demoed in the video. But it's not a matter of just checking a checkbox. You'll have to create your XSLT/.NET presentation to match what you want.

uCommerce 2.0 will be available 15/6/2011 at Codegarden 11. There's a prerelease available right now that you can try out. It's RC quality.

Regarding your purchase. Just wait two days and skip right ahead to version 2.0 :)
