One of the gurus of Umbraco has blogged about it - an older post but explains nicely how you could add the feature you describe (if I have read your post correctly).
Thanks for the suggestion, but this is not quote what I am looking for.
I have a custom section and have a button on this that needs to open form to be completed, which will then save back to the database. I am looking for something like the creat pop-up, but with a custom form. Something like th Insert Macro pop up.
Custom Section Popup
Hi I have a custom section up and running.
I need to have an area of this than when clicked shows a pop-up form to be completed.
Is it possible to do this using the Umbraco 'look and feel'?
Thanks

Hi there
altTemplates may be what you are after ?

Hi Nigel

Sorry for the confusion.

I have found a page that mentioned the solution to this, please see the link below.
http://our.umbraco.org/forum/using/ui-questions/27303-How-to-create-a-custom-backoffice-popup- ;
One thing I would add is that unlike the custom sections the pop up page needs to be a full HTML page.
Thanks for the help Nigel.
