I have a contour form for registering events.
i need to edit the date field in the entries section, I can edit all the fields except date field (It is not updating).

It could seems like there might be some problems with date field when you will update it. Try to see my first comment on this thread.

It looks like when you need to update the field, you need to remove the field, and add it again in new.
