Cant edit submitted entry Radio boxes ( 3.0.23-Build.20)

using contour  3.0.23-Build.20 on 7.1.8 install, when a form submitted with radio boxes selected, when admin trys to edit the entyry on backend contour the radio box selection does not show on edit page

    /umbraco/plugins/umbracoContour/previewFormDialog.aspx?recordGuid=....

so admin cant see (on this screen) which box selected and edit/change accordingly.

is there a quick fix to show the submitted selection on the admin-edit screen?

    Hi keilo,

I have just tried setup an fresh Umbraco 7.1.8 with the TXT starter kit installed, and downloaded the latest version of Contour, at the moment is 3.0.27, released 2 days ago, and with this version I am able to change and see the radio box selection on the edit page.

So if it´s an option for you I think that you should upgrade to the lastest version of Contour. You can find the upgrade guide here: https://our.umbraco.org/projects/umbraco-pro/contour/documentation/Installation/Upgrade

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis

Thanks for the swift reply. I have upgraded the Contour to 3.0.27 - Its on 7.1.8 install.

When I open the RTE embedded simple contour form and select (mandatory) radiobuttonlist (YES, NO) like in your sshot, and switch back to back-end contour-form-entries-select submitted-edit record - > I dont see the user' submitted option (YES, NO none of it selected). If on this admin edit screen i make a selection and submit then open again i can see the entry....

am i missing something obvious here?

    many thanks!

    Hi keilo,

No you´re right none of the options in the radiobuttonlist is chosen even though the user have chosen one when he or she submiited it. I think you should submit a ticket to the issue tracker about this issue. http://issues.umbraco.org/issues/CON

I think it´s a good idea to point out that you are using the Contour package and not the Umbraco Forms when you are explaining the issue.

    Hi again Dennis

its a relatively simple feature, wondering if im missing something as such feature is not present on the last (most) iterated of the Contour (pre-Forms) version.

Never used the tracker before, dont really know how to go about it. Might as well research/google on what might be missing.... has to be something obvious as its a very common/basic/vanilla feature ....

    Hi keilo,

Here is some documentation on how to report an issue or request a feature in general https://our.umbraco.org/contribute/report-an-issue-or-request-a-feature And since you are working with Contour, you should submit your issue in the space for Umbraco Forms and Contour. http://issues.umbraco.org/issues/CON

    Hi Tim

Just to add on to the OP, it can be replicated in earlier versions of Contour too - tried on at least 4 installation of different versions. Latest being 3.0.23-Build.20

Hopefully there is a quick fix!

    cheers

Upgrade instructions can be found here: https://our.umbraco.org/projects/umbraco-pro/contour/documentation/Installation/Upgrade

    Hi Tim

After overwriting the latest nightly, it works as expected! Many thanks for this update.

Would this apply to the new Form system in 7.2? Im not sure if its ready to migrate from Contour to new Forms yet..

    Cheers!

It's possible to migrate but be aware that Forms doesn't have as many features as Contour so best try it out on a clean install first to see if it fits your needs (for example it doesn't have edit record functionality)

Appreciate the feedback. How far is Forms realistically to catch-up with the Contour features, 6 month or a year? Trying to have some rough idea as it seems we did a lot of custom Contour stuff/workflow and depend on full features. Do you foresee a 1:1 match or is it transitioning out from legacy features?

    Many thanks again!

    Hi keilo,

Try to see Tim´s comment in this thread about the main differences between Contour and Umbraco Forms. https://our.umbraco.org/forum/umbraco-pro/contour/63929-Code-First-in-Umbraco-Forms

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

Thanks for the heads up Dennis. Did a quick read and I think the less record states did caught my attention first. There seems to be no longer Partially Submitted state in the new Forms.

Well I believe everyone will hit the same wall of questions once they move up the upgrade cycle. I am tempted with the grid-based form UI yet dependend on 'legacy' features. Im sure Tim and the team have a wider vision on these.

    Cheers!

The Umbraco Forms only working with two workflows the submitted and the approved workflow, see the documentation here: https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/products/umbracoforms/Editor/Attaching-Workflows/

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis
