Is there any documentation on the various little green icons on the nodes of the content tree? For instance, what's the meaning of the plus sign as seen below:
I know there are other icons as well, but don't remember which ones I've seen right now. I just remember I was unable to find out the meaning of them last time I looked (it's really hard to search for this, when I don't even know what they're called).
Anyway, this time around it showed up on a Umbraco cloud dev site after leaving it alone for a while, and I didn't remember the reason for the icon. Exactly where it showed up, well see the screenshot above :)
I think they should be documented here: https://our.umbraco.com/documentation/Getting-Started/Backoffice/Sections/, but unfortunately I don't have time to go down the road of setting myself up for creating PR's on the documentation at this point. Would love to contribute, but I'm overloaded with dev work... and I don't have the knowledge of the icons anyway. Creating an issue should be straightforward once I (or any of you) have just a bit more info on naming/topic.
One quick note on the documentation of the icons, it's not clear whether the icon is relevant to the node itself, or to any of the node's children. If a child node needs republishing, would the parent node get a green plus icon?
And labeled it as 'up for grabs', so anyone in the community with some free time, looking for places to help out, can perhaps tackle this, and avoid someone being puzzled again about those tiny weird icons appearing without explanation!
(The icon only shows for the individual item that has been updated, but not published yet.)
Meaning of various content tree mini icons?

Hi Tor,
That icon indicates a change in the content not yet published.
Ok, thanks David!
Hint, hint, Umbraco Document Curators!

Hi Tor
Would happily curate a PR!
or an Issue on the tracker: https://github.com/umbraco/UmbracoDocs/issues
I was just wondering where best to place it?
eg, where with your fresh eyes did you look first?
regards
Marc

Hi Tor
Thanks, knowing where you would look is really helpful.
I think there is a lot missing on how to use Umbraco in the documentation, and it's great you've highlighted this.
I've created an issue:
https://github.com/umbraco/UmbracoDocs/issues/1106
And labeled it as 'up for grabs', so anyone in the community with some free time, looking for places to help out, can perhaps tackle this, and avoid someone being puzzled again about those tiny weird icons appearing without explanation!
(The icon only shows for the individual item that has been updated, but not published yet.)
thanks
Marc
Fantastic turnaround on this issue! The documentation is already updated at https://our.umbraco.com/documentation/Getting-Started/Backoffice/Sections/. Great job and kudos to those involved (Marc Goodson, Jesper Mayntzhusen, and Fernando K).
is working on a reply...
