    Upgrade from 6 to 7

    We have to migrate all our sites onto a new server and want to take the opportunity to upgrade from Umbraco 6.1.6 to at least 7

    Are there any quick ways to do so or will it be better to do a rebuild of each one.

    Hi Andrew,

    There's not really any quick way to upgrade a solution, although the official documentation here definitely streamlines it a bit.

    Whether you re-build each site from the ground-up or upgrade, there will still be a bit of time involved to get everything working as normal, and since each website is different, there's no way to guess exactly how long that will take.

    If you're considering rebuilding the sites entirely, I'd recommend holding off until V8 is officially released - which I suspect won't be too far in the future - and building your site using that, rather than V7.
