I come from an EPiServer world where it's possible to specify properties on a document type / content type but not have these properties visible within editing mode i.e. the content tree.
Is this possible in Umbraco - is there a way to add a property to a content type but not have this property displayed in the content tree when editing nodes ? I've found that I can create my own data type and specify the "Render controls" as "No edit" however the property still appears when editing items in the content tree, but there is no associated edit control along side it, so it seems a bit weird because all you see is the title of the property . . .
Would be nice if there was a way to make this not show up at all i.e. a hidden property.
Hidden Properties

Thoughts / comments ?
Thanks,

It's not available oob, but there's a project in the project section that may be of interest to you: http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/axendo-disabled-properties
Have a look and see if that fits your needs.
Hope this helps.
