Looking for suggestions really of how to deal with this best, not only in terms within Umbraco, but in terms of redirecting the content that once was ‘current’ to the archive version.
Archiving an yearly events site
Hi,
We’re looking to build an ‘event’ site for an event that runs every year, we are thinking that every year we want keep the existing site as an archive and possibly help with SEO (or at least not lose any indexing).
The easy was would be to set up a site for each year within the same install:
However it would be much nicer if the *current* event did not have the preceding year so
-- http://ourEvent.org/news/some-current-news (current site)
-- http://ourEvent.org/2008/news/some-other-news
Looking for suggestions really of how to deal with this best, not only in terms within Umbraco, but in terms of redirecting the content that once was ‘current’ to the archive version.
So this year
-- http://ourEvent.org/news/some-current-news
but when archived it would become
-- http://ourEvent.org/2009/news/some-current-news
Hope that makes sense! Look forward to some opinions.
