Image cropper doesn't create thumbs upon publish ?
When i upload new images to the media section and I save them, the image cropper datatype does not generate thumbnails untill i load the media item again, and save them once more... is there a fix for this behaviour?
I'd like the thumbnails to be available the moment i save an image, without requiring further action...
Last, when you need a crop of 100x100 pixels, is it possible for the crop to include as much as possible from the image, instead of just the top left corner ?
I was hoping that this datadtype could enhance what we did with imagegen before, but these obstacles don't make it much better at first glance...
I wish I could vote for this one ... but I don't have 70 karma points yet ;)
But this is really an issue if you're publishing a folder structure as an image gallery.
And if you're using Matt's Desktop Media Uploader for uploading a massive pile of shots, then you're in for a long weekend of saving images in the media section.
I agree. I'd like to see the default crop saved when the image is first saved. Then, if my user wants to modify the default crop later, they can do so via the media section.
That helper class would just create a default crop? The user would still be wise to go into Media and adjust the crop, reposition, resize, etc. Ideally... I would like to be on a content page, chose to insert an image, from the pop up, be able to upload a new image, and right there or via that, be able to set the crop. All while creating/editing my page, without having to leave it, go to the Media section, find the image, set the crop, go back to Content and finish creating/editing my page.

Hey Guys
You might wanna look at this package DAMP
It should actually add a helper class that has a fix for this issue.
I haven't tested it but I read about it on twitter.
