How do I use Umbraco to create a website with a lot of content?

I'm just getting started using umbraco to create my personal website / online portfolio. So far I like the UI of the admin panel yet I'd like to know how it is suppose to work if I have a site with a large number of "posts" like a blog or forum? It doesn't seem fesible to show every blog post or forum post in the content tree? Will each post be a seperate pages on the site or is there some other mechanism for storing content like this?

    Hi Eric,

Each page would be shown as a node in the front end of the site but there is alot you can do to make alot of content more managable. There are several packages that make managing a large amount of content easier:

http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/datefolders - sorts content into folders according to it's create date (the blog for umbraco package uses this)

http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/document-sorter - I havnt used this one but it is a package to sort content based on rules you define (alphabetical, date etc..)

http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/favorite-content - allows you to favorite nodes that you edit most and provides you witha quick way of accessing them.

http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/speedy-content-creator - allows you to create a group of nodes of different types all at once, letting you populate a whole site very quickly.

    I hope this helps

I'm liking the speedy content creator! Thanks for that!
