I've set a "Publish at" date for a content node that is in the future, 1/1/2011, however the content is still visible. Is there a bug with the publish date?
Just to be sure, the node wasn't published before and you forgot to unpublish it? And to be double sure - you didn't press the "Save and publish"-button after changing/setting the date, right?
Just asking because you say that the node is *still* visible.
I am pushing "Save and Publish". So I should only save the node? Then I assume the scheduler takes care of publishing it? It's not very clear or obvious how this works. I would expect content that is unpublished to be treated like a draft state. I would expect that when I "Save and Publish" the content is safe to go live but is not visible if outside the date range.
If the above is correct then why is it content set to be removed at a certain date no longer displays but is not unpublished?
Connie, when you press the "Save and publish"-button, you are overriding the "publish at"-option, and publishes the node. So you first need to press the "unpublish"-button (if the node was ever published), after that choose the right "Publish at" date, and then you just click the Save-button.
But as Jan says, there have been a bug in some of the earlier versions of Umbraco regarding this function.

Hi Connie
+1 on what Kim is saying.
What version of Umbraco are you using? I know that this has been very buggy in Umbraco 4.0.3 for instance.
