I think i am missing a step, I have and instance of umbraco v
4.5.2 installed I have one site running fine, I have copied that site and used manage host names to give it a new domain (not a sub domain). In my hosting i have set up the domain that i used for my second site in Umbraco.
It doesn't seem to have worked, am i missing a step? Do I have to point the new domain to umbraco some how?
Im not sure i now what you mean, In umbraco the domain is added as "explore-st-andrews.com.doghorn.arvixe.com" and in my hosting control panel I have added a new toplevel domain called explore-st-andrews.com which has an instant alias of explore-st-andrews.com.doghorn.arvixe.com.

Hi Lachlann
How have you set the sites up using "manage hostnames" in Umbraco? Does this reflect how it's been setup on the web server?

So a bit more reading and it seems that I have to request that my hosting provider edits the host headers. Any one have any experience of this?
L
Hi Lachlann
Yes the hostnames should also be setup in IIS otherwise it won't have any effect.
