I am running into an issue where a newly created page is throwing an "item with the same key has already been added" with one particular document type. There isn't a page with the same name under Content as far as I can see. Deleting and recreating the page with the same doc type also errors out whereas if I use a different one, it works. Thus, it seems there is something wrong with the document type itself right? I'd appreciate any help that can be provided!
Do you happen to be using 4.6.1 and nested document types? There's a bug where if you define the same property in the parent and the child document type, it will be accepted (it shouldn't be) and this error occurs.
Have you tried republishing the entire site and refresh the XML chache? Sometimes that's enough...
Maybe another option would be to try and copy over the bin, install, umbraco and umbraco_client libraries with a nightly build to see if it fixes the issue?
I just tried republishing the entire site but that didn't fix the problem. Not sure how to refresh the XML cache. As far as copying over those directories, can you clarify? Are you suggesting I copy and paste the original downloaded files to my site? Thanks.
You refrsh the XML cache by right clicking on the top node named "Content" and choose "Republish entire site". This updates the umbraco.config file in the App_data folder.
Choose the latest build from friday the 18th of February.
Once it's been downloaded you should copy the mentioned folders and overwrite the ones in your installation. However you should of course make a backup before doing this, just in case something gets messed up.

Thanks for your response. I checked the properties of the document type and its parent. There were no conflicts. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

However this will probably not solve your issue.
No not from the source you downloaded but from the nightly build where many bugs have been fixed. You can download it from here: http://nightly.umbraco.org/umbraco%204.6/4.6.1/
Choose the latest build from friday the 18th of February.

I hope this makes sense? :-)
