    Cannot Create Data Type

Cannot create a new Data Type.  Getting "Value cannot be null. Parament name: String" after I input the name and click Create.

    Hi Connie

What kind of data type are you trying to create?

Ahh okay, that's weird. Sounds a bit like a bug, although I haven't heard of the problem before.

Could you tell us a little about your setup? Umbraco version, which database you use, which OS you use. I'm not sure I can help you out, but maybe someone else with the same setup as you have had the error before.

I recycled the app pool and was able to create a data type.  However, after saving it, now all of my Data Types are gone!  I have restarted the app pool, reloaded the nodes, and still my Data Types node remains empty.  Totally screwed!

So now all of your data types are gone? Have you set the correct permission settings in your file system?

How about if you go to the Settings section and selecting a document type, can you then see the data types if you try to create a new property?

Something went haywire and I ended up with several orphaned records in umbraco.Node table.  Deleted them and now my data types show up again.
