using import tool and moving pages

    Hello all.

Im pretty new to using Umbraco 4.0 and am having a bit of difficulty. I have these quite long reports which are in microsoft word docx format, with many pages and chapters in each. At the moment when I upload the word folder the chapter are collapsed / inside of the first chapter.e.g

     Report page

    ...........page1

     .................page 2

     .................page 3

     .................page 4

This means that I have to manually move each one which is proving incredibly time consuming, in order to organise them like so.

    report page

    ...........page 1

    ...........page 2

    ...........page3

I was wondering it there is an easier way to move them beyond just right clicking and selecting where to put them as there is a large database to work with. If not is there a way to organise the word document to solve this issue.

    Hi Albiol

I guess you're trying to find a fast way to upload your word documents to the media section of Umbraco, right?

Then I guess you should consider using the desktop media uploader by Matt "Karmanator" Brailsford.

This should make uploading the documents a breeze.

If this is not what you're asking for please be a bit more specific since I'm otherwise not sure what you mean.

    /Jan

Thanks for that and sorry for the lack of clarity, though my lack of familiarity makes it still hard to explain I suppose.  Its pretty much the same issue that is addressed by the desktop media uploader except in the content section. The moving and organisation of the nodes can be time consuming because each one requires you to right click, select move, wait for the folders to load up, select the right directory and then move it.

So my issue would be is there a way to make sure the nodes are in the right place when I upload a word file which has content headings, or is there a more time efficient way to move nodes in umbraco.

    Hi,

Are you talking media or content nodes here?

    Cheers,

    Richard
