Sorry, can't reproduce (mine is an upgrade from 4.7 beta, which was a clean install not an existing site).

You have to save the page (not save/publish) before preview will update.  Can't speak for the missing preview banner.

Niels this was upgrade from 4.5.2.  Daniel I am only saving the page not publishing. Also I have cogsuperpreview installed and I have un installed it but still get same issue.  I checked in the app_data/preview dir and something is being created at same time of preview.

    Regards

Ok false alarm my apologies looks like cogsuperpreview is causing a problem we got fresh install without it and it works although for some reason still cant see the overlay.

Seems this was an issue in Superpreview as the Perview cookies had been refactored in 4.7.

I've patched SuperPreview and uploaded the latest version to the project page
