    rights?

    Hey!

I am about to learn DotNetNuke but found Umbraco.

My question is : Is it totaly free to use the Umbraco just as the DotNetNuke platform? Or do I have to buy it to be able to build my own site without the umbraco logo?

    Hey Snowman,

On the frontend of your site you can put anything you want, you don't need to add any umbraco logo.

But if you want to rebrand the umbraco backend (remove all references to umbrac), you'll need a commercial license.

    Hey Snowman,

Coming from DNN I can only give you one advice. Don't go there. Stay here. You'll never regret it.

Is front end the html and css that the end user sees?

Is the backend the administrators/superusers tools to administrate the site or is it the code, or is it the whole CMS foundation(so I do not start e new CMS built on umbraco)?

Yes the frontend is the html/css that the end user see when they go to your site.

The backend is the tool that is used to manange the site.

    So /umbraco/umbraco.aspx
