In all honesty, I don't think we need a new UI for the backoffice, having multiple different UI's will only be confusing for people looking at screencasts, documentation, the upcoming book, the editor's manual. Also, people who develop packages will stick to the default UI and this will cause a mess when they set a white background color where you want it to be grey.
The backoffice is a tool to be USED, it doesn't have to look pretty as long as it's functional.
Niels has also always stated that he does not want custom UI skins and I agree with him on that one.
New Backoffice UI - Get inspired and please give feedback - New Backoffice UI
Okay i was a little bored at the time and so i've taken my illustrator and layouted a little bit for a new backend.
Please give a feedback or some intentions what could be better and if it's cool :)
