Links to media files in Rich Text Editor

    Hello everyone,

Recently I started a topic (http://our.umbraco.org/forum/using/ui-questions/19412-Error-404-while-inserting-link-to-media-in-Rich-Text-Editor) about error 404 while adding links to PDF files in rich text editor. But recently I found out that when adding the document in the root (Meida) folder, than the link can be added, and when adding the dicument to the created subfolde (for example, Documents), than error 404 appears.

Did anyone faced such a problem and can it ever be solved?

    Thanks in advance,

    Andrei

    Hi Andrei

    I'm a bit confused here.

Do you create the PDF file within Umbraco or do you copy the PDF file over in the folder on the filesystem?

Could you please describe the steps you're taking to upload the file? And what version of Umbraco are you using btw?

    /Jan

    Hi Both,

I concur, if I create a folder called "Downloads", then have a sub-folder called "Toolkits" within the Media Section, then add a link to it using the RTE it will result in a 404 page:

    Here's the RTE:

    <td style="text-align: center;"><a href="/media/55212/the_nec.docx" target="_blank" title="The NEC Group Toolkit"><img src="/media/13606/the-nec-group.jpg" alt="The -nec -group" width="120" height="66" /></a></td>

    Gives:

    Any ideas?
