Install the creative website wizard startup site. This will give you a nice basic site with templates / macros etc. Have a look through that to get you started.

I would also subscribe to umbraco tv it costs a little but the videos are brilliant.

unziped it.Inside folder,there are images and ascx files and xslt but problem is that i dont know really how to use it.Could u please show me the way.May be it is not a good question to ask.

Don't unzip, it's not supposed to work in that way. Instead, go to 'Developer' section, expand the 'Packages' node, right-click the 'Import local package' and browse to the zip. umbraco takes care of all the rest.

During Installing package i am getting this error:

Error 309 (Provider v. 3.4.1.69): Duplicate key found in index: PK_cmsDataTypePreValues: row#3 :id(4)

Is there any problem with my Umbraco or its problem of zip file.

Hmm,

Not sure which one is causing the error. I know there have been some issues and conflicts if CWS2 is installed alongside the Runway modules, but that should have been resolved on the 2.0.1 release. Is that the version you're working with?

Also, if it doesn't quite work out well, try installing umbraco from scratch again (do not install any Runway modules) and install CWS package afterwards.

I'm guessing that you use vistaDB as database right? In that case, it's a bug in umbraco.

Rumors say that today a new version of umbraco will be released (4.0.1) which will have this issue fixed.

Alternatively you can download a nightly-build if you can't wait for 401 to be released ;)
