    Incomplete context menu?

    Hi,

I've recently upgraded a site from 3.0.6 through 4 to the recent 4.0.1 generally everything is looking great and I'm really pleased but...and there was going to be a but wasn't there!

I want to use the XSLT search on the site so have downloaded the package but when I right-click on the Macros the only options I get in the menu are Create and Reload nodes. I am logged in as my webmaster user which has full access to everything and all the updates appeared to work successfully. Any ideas at all?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Shouldn't you first expand the Macro node and rigth-click 'Install Local Packages'?
It's bit different in v4 compared to v3. In v3, right-click'ing the 'Macro' node gave option to import package, but that has changed in v4.

    Regards,
    /Dirk

    Dirk,

Thanks for the suggestion. Whether the Macro node is open or closed I still only get the same two menu options.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve,

So you don't get the other child nodes of the 'Macro' node in de 'Developer' section?
Oops, just checked a local install. I've been misleading you here.... Installing packages is done through the 'Packages' node (expanded...) in the 'Developer' section.

    Cheers,
    /Dirk

    Dirk,

Thanks again for your message but I still only get the same two menu options when I right-click on the expanded Packages node.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve,

Meaning there isn't a 'Install Local Package' node under the 'Packages' node?
Hmm, what version of umbraco are you using?

    Regards,
    /Dirk

    Dirk,

Yes, that's correct I don't have any nodes at all in fact under the Packages node. I think I am using v4.0.1 as the recent update seemed to apply without any issues.

I wonder if it might be worth reinstalling v4? It seems to me the problem is with the application rather than data related.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve,

check the data-folder and see if there's a packages-folder in there. My guess is that it's missing.
Copy the packages-folder from the 4.0.1 binaries and put it in the data-folder.
After that, you should get more options.

    Peter,

Thanks for that suggestion. There was a packages folder under the data folder but removed it and recopied from the 4.0.1 files just to be on the safe side. But still I'm only getting the two menu items.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Problem solved. I reinstalled v4, applied my user controls etc. then the v4.0.1 update and the "Import packages" option has returned. Obviously I'd messed something up in the upgrades somewhere along the line.

Thanks for you help and suggestions.

    Steve
