Using v4.0.1. I created a user and set their content start node to a child node of content node called what we do. I then saved the user and as expected when user logs in they see tree from what we do.
I needed to then update the user so that start node is content. When i try to do this i can select content from the tree but after selecting it the users start in content field does not update. I had to go into db and update users table then touch the web.config to update manually!
I have run into issues updating users in that they were not saving. I found the issue in my case was that the password fields were acting like the passwords did no match, but you don't see the issue because the fields are not shown unless you click the change password. Next time you need to update the user and it doesn't seem to save, click the show password and see if it erroring due to password mismatch.
