    Frames?

    Hi Trying to understand if the Umbraco CMS UI uses frames or not. I can see a single iFrame but not sure if that violates this question on a tender document I'm trying to answer:-

    <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } -->

    "Frames. The solution must not use Frames for accessibility reasons."

    Could someone please advise?

    Craig

    Craig,

    Yes, umbraco UI does use frames.

    Without seeing the context of the "No Frames" requirement or the scope of the entire agreement it's hard to tell if it would be a violation.  I would double check if the line item is referring to the CMS or the website itself.  The accessibility requirement is usually a standard requirement for front facing websites but not always for the CMS itself.

    Hi Craig,

    Just to echo Chris's reply. I'd agree that the tender's prerequisites would be referring to the public facing (front-end) website, not the back-office.

    As you may already know, Umbraco doesn't pose any restrictions on the front-end mark-up (unless you are using a shipped Starter Kit) ... so you are free to develop the front-end to meet the accessibility standards/guidelines.

    Cheers, Lee.
