I tried to configure for extensionless url's and i dont get any errors but when i browse to a page. eg: /about.aspx i get the correct page, and /about/ gets me the first page in umbraco. All pages browsed to extensionless (eg. no .aspx) gets me the startpage. I get no errors but i only get the startpage.
There's *nothing* else I have to do to get it working, which means either there's something strange with the site you're working on, or there's something up with your IIS settings.
Either way a clean Umbraco install might give you some more insight?
Extensionless url 4.7
Im building a site in 4.7 (latest stable) .net 4.
Running on IIS 7.
Did you republish your site after making the change in web.config?
Rich
I have republished entire site, published all nodes manually many times. Hacked web.config, restarted website in iis.
No changes what so ever.
hmm.
What did you do to configure the extensionless url's, should just be one change in the web.config file for 4.7 in II7.
Rich
Have just set the "umbracoUseDirectoryUrls" to true, and then by some searching i set the rewrite module's preCondition to "".
But neither has done anything, i have directory urls set to false now but can still browse without .aspx without errors (maye should be so).
I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have to touch any rewrite conditions at all or IIS, unless something changed from 7 to 7.5
What mode is your Application Pool set to?
Rich
I'm running the pool on .net 4 and integreated pipeline. Had the same problem before setting the preCondition too.
Hey.
I'm out of ideas, what OS is the site running on?
Rich
Im running a Windows 7.
Im not getting any errors just that the page is always the startpage if directory urls is used.
Hey,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble.
Prehaps it's time for a fresh Umbraco install.
I run Windows 7 and all if I
install Umbraco from Web Platform installer,
install a starter kit,
set umbracoUseDirectoryUrls to true
There's *nothing* else I have to do to get it working, which means either there's something strange with the site you're working on, or there's something up with your IIS settings.
Either way a clean Umbraco install might give you some more insight?
