By default Umbraco should use your first node, ie the one directly under "Content" as your home page and automatically make the URL "/". I don't believe there's a built-in way to change this, other than assigning hostnames. Most typically have the first node as their Home page and have child nodes beneath or outside of it.
Tom is right about the homepage , On the rootnode in the backhand you can set a property Homepage Selecter which will use the data type content picker which can be used to select a homepage, for instance if you want the news node to be your homepage you just have to simple select the news node in the content picker . Is that you are looking for?
How to make a page the root ~/ url?
Hi,
I have a series of contents as direct child of my umbraco site root and all of them has url format like "~/PageName.aspx".
How can I make one of them becomes the home root means the url is “~/”?
Thank you,
Use content picker Data type which can be used to select any page as a Homepage.
Hi Mr A,
Sorry, I can't follow the direction you gave me. Could you tell me where and how do I apply the content picker?
