What is a ghost copy and how does it involve Umbraco?
all copied nodes are the same physical one. when you update anyone of them, all copied nodes will be updated, because they are the one in fact.
you can get some information about it.

Is this for Umbraco 5??
If it's for Umbraco 4: When you copy a node, use the checkbox that says "Relate copied items to original". Through the Relations API, you can update the related page when the other one is updated.

But thank you.
Sorry, there is no way to do this out of the box, you will need to get a developer involved. :-)
