    an error occurred while processing your request 404

    I've inherited an umbraco site and I'm very new to it. On my dev machine (which has a barebone installation of Umbraco) I get a standard 404 page when I go to a page that does not exist. On the live server I get

    "an error occurred while processing your request"

    Can anyone point me in the right direction. I want to ideally put a custom 404 page on there. Cheers, Chris.

    I think the following post should fix you up...

    You need to create your custom 404 page and then edit the web.config.
