    Strange Stylesheet saving issue

    When I paste in changes and save them, they appear on the site fine. However, when I go to the interface and open the stylesheet - its the old version shown, so if I made a change and save it - it will revert changes I made before. I tried doing my changes, logging out and logging back in again but the stylesheet remains the "old" version even though the website displays correctly.

    Any ideas?

    I am editing in FF3.5

    Umbraco 4.0.2

    SQL Server 2008

    When you say you paste in changes... do you mean you open the files in an editor directly from the files on the filesystem, or from within the umbraco admin interface? I suspect from the filesystem and your editor is locking the file so umbraco can't keep it in sync with the internal editor. If you close the external editor and then open the css file from within umbraco, do you see the proper version?

    cheers,
    doug.

    No, via the Umbraco interface just pasting in the stylesheet from an external editor (Stylizer).

    It seems to be chopping of this

    /*EDITOR PROPERTIES - PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS LINE TO AVOID DUPLICATE PROPERTIES*/
    .eventinfo A, A.visited, A.Hover
    {
        color: #31CAFD;
        font-weight: bold;
        font-size: 1em;
    }

    It says Stylesheet saved correctly.. and it shows correctly but when re-opened it looks like it is not opening the file "as is".

    Have you run your source stylesheet through W3C to find validation errors?

    What if you try moving the ".eventinfo A, A.visited, A.Hover" line to before the comment? Or try adding a new line after the comment?

    Does this happen with all css files you eidt, or just this one?

    The build-in css editor hides the

    /*EDITOR PROPERTIES - PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS LINE TO AVOID DUPLICATE PROPERTIES*/

    section at the bottom of the css file, as these are the 'stylesheet properties' that appear when you add styles to the dropdown list in the RTE.

    You edit these properties via the treeview control by expanding the stylesheet and css file. This is a difference between working with the raw file on the filesystem and working with the css file via the umbraco admin interface.

    cheers,
    doug.
