Getting updated from 4.7.1.1, what whould you do?

    Hello

We have Umbraco website in our organisation (www.sejlsport.dk) which we had external developers to create 8 months ago.

Now I wont to continue develop on the platform, but found the following challenges:

    • Old version 4.7.11 ( I like to get updatet).
    • Many, many macroes, templates = inconsistens in design, confusing, errors
I have thought of 2 scenaries for the future of the website:
    • Update the existings installation.
    • - Clean up the old structure of macroes, templates, datatypes.
    • + Keep content
    or
    • Start over on a fresh Umbraco installation.
    • + Rebuild structure of macroes, templates ect.
    • - Move content
What would you do? Clean up or start fresh?

4.7.1.1 is not that old yet. If performance is good and you can reuse a lot of code I would just clean up the old structure.

In 4.11 there is a lot of good new stuff and you could use MVC to build your website, but if it's not necessary I wouldn't do it.
