I am trying to update an existing website which has 'RTE' as a content placeholder. After editing the rich text editor if I publish the page the content remain the same as before, no changes.
Can you tell us a bit more about the version of Umbraco you're using? And have you double checked that the macro does not have any caching set? (If you're using a macro).
Have you also checked that permissions are still correct? Do you by any chance run a multisite setup?
RTE not updating the content after publish

I am using version 4.7.1
Not using any macros, just html and text.
What permissions do I need for this? I think I have full.
This is single site.

And yes full permissions should be enough...what happens if you recycle the app pool? Does the content changes then display?
