    Using PNG Images

    Hi All

I am currently working on creating a new page using umbraco 4 with my work and I am having problems with inserting the images. The PNG files show black backgrounds. To try and over come this I am using the same background colour in JPG format. However this keeps showing a small white outline round each image. Obviously I would prefer the PNG format, but I cannot understand why PNG files show up the way they do. I am not running umbraco in developer mode however I have tried code to reduce border size etc to 0 with no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Jamie

    Hi Jamie

Could you show us how you're rendering the images? Are you using XSLT or Razor? And are you using imageGen for instance?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    /Jan

What version of Umbraco are you using? Umbraco added support for PNG, but older versions show the black background. Could also be related to this problem: http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-693

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I am using Umbraco v 4.7.2 . Sorry Jan I do not know what you mean about how we render our images, i'm very new to Umbraco. I have limited HTML/CSS knowledge, but I use Umbraco in Administrator mode (if that makes any difference). I have looked at some ways to change the code of the codec, do you reckon that is my problem?

I look forward to hearing from you
