We have a similar problem like the one mentioned in this forum post.
We have recently set up URL rewrite using IIS 7.5 URL rewrite module with an outbound and inbound rule to translate urls back and forth between <domain>/content/<url> to <domain>/<url>.
The problem is that the Umbraco back admin pages aren't working. The HTTP log (use f.ex HTTP Fox) shows that the DependencyHandler.axd and ScriptResource.axd returns HTTP 500 errors (Internal Server Error).
We don't get any YSOD in the browser, the content tree is simply not shown.
We tried the solution described in the above forum post without any luck.
Any clues about how to investigate the problem and find out what is failing? I guess that we have to include some more URLs from the exceptions of the URL rewrite rules but we get no clue about what URLs this could be from the HTTP log
