    Uploading .gif with transparent background

    Hi All,

I have only just found this and was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue?

Everytime I upload a .gif image which has transparency the transparency goes black but only in the media section, it displays fine on the page.

Its nothing major, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hi Tom

I don't think it is a umbraco-specific issue. I think it's a general issue. I think you would see the same result if you had a preview of the image on your computers desktop. Sometimes I do when browsing .gif images on my machine.

Don't know why it is so though :)

    /Jan

I think you mean the thumbnail being displayed in the media-section right? The script that generates thumbnails can't create transparent gif's. It's only the thumbnail that looses the transparency, as you allready said, the original remains correct.

    HTH,

    Peter
