Hi, I accedentely deleted the folder containing the entire website. I can see it in the recycle bin but I can't find a way to restore it. How do I restore it? I'm using Umbraco 3.
Right klicking makes a small box with alternatives pop up for a blink of an eye. There is no way to click an anything in the box.
I'm not sure why you can't restore it from the recycle bin, should be able to but I've never used Umbraco 3.
You should be able to restore the nodes via playing with the database (back up first!!), I believe the nodes will be marked as "isTrashed" and this should be set to true for items in the recycle bin, setting this to false should make the nodes reapper.
Another option is to upgrade to Umbraco 4 or at least to a version where the Recycle Bin can be restored.
All i would say is back up your database regardless as there will definately be a way to get your nodes back.
Yes, it's strange that you can see the files in recycle bin but can't restore them. Please try to right click the files in the recycle bin, then select restore.
Or you could search the computer disk C for the files directly.
If these ways can't work out, I'm afraid you have to use a professional software, if I were you, I will choose Kvisoft Data Recovery Software.

If you go down the upgrade route (not saying you should), older versions of Umbraco here http://code.leekelleher.com/umbraco/archive/
