    Umbraco and mailchimp

    Hi

On my site I would like af newsletter formular, but I'm not sure which way to go.

    • I'd like to do it via MailChimp, but do not know how. (any ideas)
    • Or should I create a simple form that just sends an email address to my mailbox. (I do not expect many signups)
    • Or should I use contoure - I just think it's a little pricey

I would prefer to use MailChimp so I hope some of you can help me further on that front :-)

    I have a umbraco 4.7.0 and a 4.9.0

    Hi Kate,

I just make a search in the package repository, and found three different packages, for MailChimp.

I must mention, that i haven't worked with any of these packages my self.

But the package with the name Mailchimp4umbraco includes, two default signup forms, but maybe you will get some problems to get it work with 4.7.0 and 4.9.0 because it is developered for version 4.0.x.

    http://our.umbraco.org/projects/mailchimp4umbraco

Maybe this could be the solution http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/woodbasechimpmailer but I don´t know if it comes with a signup form. But you could try to ask in the Package discussions, on the page for the package.

The last package I found in my search was http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/xslt-mailchimp

I hope this can help you in some way.

    /Dennis

    Hi Kate,

As i mention, you could get some problems using the mailchimp4umbraco, because it was made for Umbraco version 4.0.x, exsample 4.0.3 it´s an old version of Umbraco.

And I don´t think the package is compatible with a newer version.

So I think you should try woodbasechimpmailer, and see if it has the features you were looking for. But I haven't tried the packages my self.

Another opportunity could possibly be using the Newsletter Studio, as Rich mention in his post. I have never used the Newsletter Studio.

But if you will try the Newsletter Studio I think you should take contact to Markus Johansson, I´m sure that he will help you if you have any question about the Newsletter Studio package..

A bit late, but as this is almost the only topic with Mailchimp, this might be handy for everyone else aswell:

Just found another package which can be used for the latest versions (MVC) http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/nedfinity-mailchimp-mvc

    Hi Ambert,

I think it´s really nice that you share, you found of the new packages for MailChimp of MVC for Umbraco. I think i can help lots for people who use the Mailchimp.

And that's what I think makes this forum the most brilliant and the friendliest in the world. Although the item may be old, new things can always be added to hope it can help to help others.

    So again thanks for sharing

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

that's what I thought, I did a search for mailchimp and found there were hardly any posts, this way I hope I can help some people who are looking for something similar! ;-)

    Cheers!
